Who is Cupid? Greek mythology

According to Greek mythology, Cupid or Eros is the god of love.

Greek mythology! Greek myths about love and beauty have always stirred the minds of people. The story of the god of love has therefore made an impeccable appeal in stories, poems, paintings, and above all in literature and art over the ages. Cupid in Latin and Eros in Greek are the creators of love, affection and sexuality. Cupid's love of Maya came up in Greek mythology in its own way. Cupid's mother was Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, also called the Roman goddess Venus. Aphrodite was impeccably beautiful. His son became a heavenly son, empowered to spread the appeal of love and affection among the people. Cupid is therefore called the 'god of love' in Greek mythology.

One of the special features of Cupid is that he was both a god and a human being. He was a handsome man. Cupid had two heavenly wings on his back. The story of the wings on the back of the fairies that we have heard orally, however, has been greatly influenced by the past descriptions of the soft wings of Cupid's cotton. Cupid was very active since childhood due to having a fan. Cupid had a bow and arrow in his hand while flying here and there. Cupid was by nature naughty. If he was shot, any animal would fall in love. Having this heavenly power, he took it as a game and flew as he wished and in the trick of the game he shot arrows and fell in love with people. But who knew that one day his arrow would pierce the body of an impeccable beauty in whose love he himself would be fascinated? Yes, one day Cupid himself fell in love. Cupid's mind was conquered by the beautiful princess Psyche. But the beginning of that love was completely different. Apulias, in his Metamorphosis or Golden Ass, wrote an immortal anecdote about the love and marriage of Cupid and Psyche. From there, a lot of information is available about the love between these two. Myths are written about all these.

Princess Psyche was the youngest and most beautiful of the three sisters. Because of his charming appearance, people would rush to see him at a glance. The goddess Aphrodite did not suppress the news of Psyche's beauty. Psyche in particular is not an ordinary mortal woman, but a goddess who begins to express loyalty to her by fascinating men. Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, was offended. Many people who worship Aphrodite run to Psyche because of her beauty. Their homage is dedicated to Psyche's feet. At one point, rumors spread that the love goddess Aphrodite, known in Roman mythology as Venus, had disguised herself as a psychic. In fact, the temple of the goddess Venus became depopulated. After the news reached heaven, Aphrodite came down to earth one day to see Psyche with her own eyes. He saw firsthand that what he heard was not a lie. Jealousy on the one hand and the endless reverence of men on the other hand, he went back to heaven with great anger.

In any case, he became a tactic to bring people back to the Temple of Venus. Meanwhile, the fickle son Cupid shot an arrow and fell in love with people and animals. He called his son Cupid and told him everything in detail. And he did not hesitate to say that he had become vengeful. He tells Cupid to shoot a love arrow at Psyche so that Psyche becomes the poorest and ugliest person in the world. Or Cupid tells the sleeping Psyche to shoot the most hated and ugly animal in front of him, such as the pig, so that Psyche wakes up and falls in love with the pig. Eros went to his sleeping Psyche's house as his mother had said. But Psyche woke up while shooting an arrow. Eros went to shoot the arrow properly and put the arrow in Psyche's arm. To be honest, Cupid was hesitant to look at Psyche's eyes and chest after waking up. Whatever he did, Cupid's loving arrow made Psyche fall in love. On the other hand, due to Psyche's love for Cupid and her impeccable form, at the same time, Eros began to fall in love with Psyche. According to another source in the myth, Cupid not only put an arrow in Psyche's arm, but also in love with Psyche, Cupid unknowingly put his lover on himself. That's what happened. Cupid and Psyche fell in love with each other.

Cupid became very worried about this incident. He first ran to Apollo, the god of prophecy. Earlier, Apollo had been stabbed to death on the shores of Cupid, but he feared for his life. At one point, the loving Cupid returned and told his mother Aphrodite everything. This made Aphrodite even angrier and cursed Psyche. His curse was- although everyone would be fascinated by the form of Psyche but no one would take her as a wife. With this curse, he adds, Cupid and Psyche can't even meet and socialize with each other. Cupid and Psyche's love was practically shattered after this curse. The distance was created between the two. Cupid swore with a broken heart that he would not throw away any lover until Psyche was free from the curse. The world became loveless after Cupid's love affair stopped. People fell in love with people, people became tough and barbaric. The god Apollo was observing everything. He realized that if love and affection were to flow into the world, Cupid would have to be restrained to shoot arrows. Meanwhile, Cupid could no longer. The man of the mind would have been detached from Psyche and he too would have been depressed. He rushes to Apollo to free Psyche from Aphrodite's curse. Apollo instructed Psyche's father, dressed as a bride, to leave Psyche on the highest peak of the lonely mountain in the dark of night. There is a man waiting for Psyche, for whom even the gods are frightened and disturbed. Upon receiving Apello's prophecy, Psyche's father left Psyche alone in the mountains. Meanwhile, after hearing Apollo's prophecy, Cupid hid to get to Psyche and reached the top of the mountain earlier. Psyche went to the hill and saw that Apollo had built a palace for him there. While Psyche was waiting to surrender herself as the demon's wife, the wind god Zephyrus lifted her unconscious from a lonely mountaintop. His chariot stopped in front of Cupid's palace. Cupid picked up Psyche and laid her on the couch inside the palace. After a while Psyche woke up. In the dark room, Psyche noticed that she was in a man's arms. She thought she understood her monster husband. Cupid knew that if he saw Psyche in his face, he would be burned to death by the curse of Aphrodite or Venus. Cupid with Katal Psyche all night. Then they fell asleep. Cupid flew out of the palace before dawn. Waking up in the morning, Psyche was surprised to see that her giant husband had not killed her but had left crystal clear water in a golden tub for her. Delicious food in gold pots on silver table. A melodious melody is floating in the palace from afar. The next day, when it was midnight again, Cupid returned to the palace. The lights of the Golden Palace went out as Psyche prepared to go to sleep. Suddenly he was caught in the embrace of a strong man. Psyche became aware and said,

"Who are you? What's your identity?"

Cupid whispered in his ear, "You don't want to know my name. Don't try to see me. Otherwise all happiness will be lost forever under the curse of heaven."

Psyche did not ask any more questions. This is how he spent his night.

Psyche said to the invisible Cupid one night,

"You just come in the dark of night, I stay alone all day. I feel very depressed and alone. Will you bring my two sisters here for a while?"

At first, the invisible Cupid stopped him, but at one point he agreed to Psyche's repeated requests. The next day, Zephyrus flew the two sisters into the air and brought them to Psyche. The two sisters were surprised to see the Golden Palace and began to scatter various questions about her husband. But Psyche knows nothing about her invisible husband in the middle of the night !. The sisters, hearing all this, made Psyche feel bad, to light the lamp and see her face as soon as the invisible husband fell asleep after the reunion. So did Psyche. But that's Cupid! Psyche was shocked at the moment.

Cupid said, 'You could not suppress general curiosity despite my prohibition? This is where our love ends. Goodbye. '

Cupid flew away. Then Aphrodite found out. Psyche, his daughter-in-law, was not unknown to heaven. Aphrodite told Psyche to meet three conditions, or else she would not lift her curse. Psyche faces three difficult conditions. In the first test, Aphrodite asked him to separate the mixture of several types of pulses in a basket before nightfall. Psyche did it with the help of an ant. In the second test he was told to bring golden fur from one of the thousands of sheep. In this danger an eagle bird came forward with the help of a psyche. When the sheep fell asleep, the eagle collected his fur. In the third test, Aphrodite said that her form had diminished in the boy's thoughts, so she had to bring some form in a small box to Persephone, the goddess of the underworld. But the easiest way to go to hell is to commit suicide by jumping from a high tower. So he climbed a minaret, but the minaret forbade him to jump. The minaret detailed the way to and from the living underworld. Psyche brought a box-filled form from the Underworld Goddess. Aphrodite didn't get the box of forms anymore. As soon as he opened the box of forms to take some forms for himself, a hellish sleep came and engulfed him. It was then that the Cupid god Apollo appealed to Psyche to free the curse in this gap. Apollo no longer understood how much Cupid really loved Psyche. Besides, if Cupid doesn't get along with Psyche, he won't break his promise not to leave his girlfriend. He considered Cupid's appeal to bring love back to the earth and to flow forever. In the midst of Aphrodite's hellish sleep, the god Apollo allowed them as husband and wife. At the same time donated their immortality! Eventually they got married and they had a daughter. After an immortal life of happiness and prosperity, Eros went back to the previous game. This is what is said in the mythology story, he still hangs out with his lover and throws his lover into love with men and women!
